Steam for the Mac!

So on this weeks episode of Bit-Speak Geekcast we discuss the possibility of Steam coming to the Mac. Well it is true! This is extremely exciting news, Fever level! Now I can play all of the great Valve games on my iMac, naively. With the addition to Steam they have also added a new function called Steam Play. This will allow a consumers to play games purchased through Steam on their Mac or their PC without double dipping in the wallet. This is great news if you had an old Steam account on the PC and moved to a Mac like myself. Also you can combine this feature with Steam Cloud. This will let you play on the go across multiple platforms keeping your progress so you don’t have to go to Ravenholm again. The Steam client for Macintosh and Valve’s games (Left 4 Dead 2, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike, Portal, and the Half-Life series) should be available in April.( PictureSource)

Now I have questions for you. Does this change your perspective on the Macintosh platform? and Do you think it is going to benefit PC Gaming? Let us know what you think about this in the comments below.

Way of the Samurai 3

Hey everyone! It’s that time of month again!… NO, not THAT time of month! I’m talking about another game blog post! This time it’s on Way of the Samurai 3, but you must have gathered that from the big ol’ title there.

We all know samurai look cool like this

So today, March 4th, Rising Star has announced that Way of the Samurai 3 is out on the 12th of March for PlayStation3 and XBox 360! This is a bold move on Rising Stars’ part, ’cause, you know, Yakuza 3 is out that day. But it shows they have balls!…of the samurai. (See what I did there?)

Moving along, I think it’s time to tell you all a bit about the game.

You play as a samurai during the Sengoku era and you can join one of two warring factions – side with the neutral villagers or ignore all and create your own path. It has a moral choice system that affects how you are known throughout the game and results in one of the 15 different endings.

Real samurai play mini-games

Like previous titles of the franchise, the open world is still there with all the old systems people are used to, along with some new systems as well. New systems include a Sudden Battle system, Original Blade Creation – boasting an impressive 200 parts to choose from to make your own unique blade – and Companion, which allows you to choose a women to set up a home with.

Accomplishing different challenges in the game will reward you with Samurai Points and a title (you start as ‘nameless’) which are used to unlock new features and authentic characters in the game.

If you're a man you only need two really effeminate bodyguards

Martin Defries, managing director of Rising Star Games said, ”We’re delighted to announce the release of Gamebridge’s Way of the Samurai 3. The ultimate choose your own adventure game, no game has used the butterfly effect to such extremes as in this one.”

So if what Martin Defries says is true, then this sounds like a game that is going to be very interesting. But we’ll have to wait till the 12th to find out!

Oh wait! I forgot, there are also two limited edition digital bonus items: a strategy guide and an artbook that are bundled with Way of the Samurai 3.
